Charles Daniel

Mr. Daniel founded the Daniel, Russell & Charles Co. (DRC) in 1998, a consulting firm covering the full spectrum of the business planning process including insurance, investment, and finance services. DRC clients represent a diverse set of businesses with a primary focus in the areas of technology, energy, and healthcare. DRC holds a U.S. - centric investment portfolio, and in addition to its business planning services; also provides finance for business acquisition, partner buyouts, commercial real estate purchases, franchise development, and equipment purchases. 
 


In addition to DRC's corporate services, Mr. Daniel also provides expert technical, analytical, and personal finance advice for select Business owners and Corporations. He earned an MDE from the University of California Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management

Keith Spears

Keith Spears is an alternative asset professional with a particular expertise in impact investing, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and real estate. Over a nearly 30-year career, Keith has worked on over 100 transactions and investments that range from $1.0 million to well over $10 billion in size. He has led the due diligence effort on over 50 fund and co-investment opportunities and he has generated top quartile performance on behalf of his clients. Over his career, Keith has advised on over $47 billion in transactions, including approximately $30 billion in 80 private equity fund investments and co-investments and $17 billion in 75 mergers, acquisitions and related financings. Key career highlights include:

• Managed the deal assignment process for a 120 person M&A department
• Executed middle-market corporate sale and divestiture assignments
• Established a database and extensive relationships with LBO firms
• Focused on the natural resources, food services, and manufacturing industries

Sam Smalls

Samuel L. Smalls was a Senior Vice President in George K. Baum & Company’s Sacramento, CA, office. Mr. Smalls entered the municipal finance industry in 1991 and has worked as a municipal advisor, issuer and investment banker over the course of his career. Mr. Smalls has worked with a variety of municipal issuers and sectors, including general government (state, city and county), airports, transportation, utilities, higher education, non-profits, housing, K-12 school districts and tobacco securitization finance.

Prior to joining GKB, Mr. Smalls was a Managing Director with Jefferies LLC’s Municipal Securities Group, assisting public sector clients throughout the western region with their infrastructure financing needs. Since March of 2000, Mr. Smalls has served as an investment banker to a host of California municipal clients, structuring more than $20 billion as a senior or co-senior manager and more than $163 billion as a co-manager.

Mr. Smalls has held the roles of Managing Director with Depfa First Albany Securities LLC, Senior Vice President with M.R. Beal & Company, Executive Director of the California Pollution Control Finance Authority, Assistant Vice President/Associate Director of Planning, Policy and Research with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and Senior Managing Consultant with Public Financial Management.

Mr. Smalls holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Social Studies from Harvard College. He is involved with alumni services and local student recruitment for Harvard College Admissions, serves as Board Member and Chair of Program Committee for Alternative Family Services (a foster family agency), and is on the community service committee for the Merryhill Midtown Parent Teacher Student Organization.

Maxime C. Martel, MA

Manager Fund Accountant, Client Services & Operations at State Street Global Services. Acts as a point of contact for operational activities and client inquiries for a $122 B pension fund portfolio. The client is composing of 711+ funds. Coordinated the work of 13 people’s inside my direct supervision.  Monitors and oversees the performance of all business units. Ensures that the net asset values of the client portfolios are accurately calculated and disseminated. Provides insight data analytics to client inquiries.

Ensure prompt follow up on exception situations and facilitate timely problem resolution to mitigate risk to the corporation and deliver excellent service to clients.
Provided assistance to the auditors with the year end audit process - assisted with the preparation of the financial statements.

Renewable Energy Senior Consultant Gina Durante, who has been with our firm since 2008, is a seasoned environmental sustainability consultant with a unique combination of business management skills and environmental expertise. She is the founder and principal of Green Path Consulting, which provides management-consulting services to companies seeking to improve their corporate environmental sustainability or expand their markets for clean tech products. Focused in the areas of high tech, clean tech, and renewable energy, particularly where government regulation impacts the bottom line. Gina also has substantive experience performing market analysis and financial modeling for companies ranging from large corporations to small entrepreneurial ventures.

James Stalling, the broker of Intervest Real Estate Company, has been with our firm since 2005. He has great synergy for Daniel, Russell & Charles Co. because of his broad background. Mr. Stalling is able to do both Land Leases and Building Leases. He has represented the state of California for 20 years and is ranked third for all commercial and residential financing. 

He has also secured long term leases. His experience expands beyond California to New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. He has experience with the set up of business locations for individuals who want to do business in California. Mr. Stalling has impeccable credentials. Investing Private Capital

Business Acquisition:
DRC can provide up to 75% of the financing costs for a buyer, which equates to a seller walking away with more cash up front. We will finance up to 100% of goodwill on loans of $1MM or under, no minimum collateral value required. Loan terms are 10 years without real estate or 25 years with real estate. We consider loans from $500,000 to $100,000,000.

Partner Buyout:
DRC can provide up to 100% of financing for a partner's buyouts. This type of transaction is based on a 10-year-term for loans of $250,000 to $20,000,000 (the 25-year term that might involve real estate).

Equipment Financing:
DRC can provide 90% financing for equipment purchases for a term of 10 years. Financing is available for capital equipment that is used in the business, which excludes transactions that might otherwise involve licensed vehicles and/or rolling stock. We consider loans of $100,000 to $10,000,000.

Franchise Financing:
DRC can provide up to 75% of financing for start-up franchises or the purchase of an existing franchise business. This type of transaction has a term of 10 years (25-year-term with real estate). We consider loans of $100,000 to $20,000,000.
